Everyday, people are hoping for something new to arrive.
"I hope I can go to the beach tomorrow!" "I hope that this test is easy!" "I hope that I can get that game!"
But, how many times do we actually hope for others? How many times are we the hope for others?
The world itself is a battlefield for the souls of all the youth. We, the youth, are not just the future of the Church, we ARE the Church. If Satan knows where he can strike the Church the hardest, it would be right in the youth. The youth these days seem to have no hope. They live lives of drugs, sex, and darkness. They proclaim the phrase "YOLO," or "You Only Live Once," as their life's motto. Don't they have hope for eternal life? By the way we see things going, they might not.
We need to be the hope, the light, for those walking the path of the darkness. We need to be strong for not only the current generation, but for the the upcoming generations as well. We need to build up the Church with a strong army of Catholic youth ready to fight against the enemy. We need to be a Generation of hope. Hope that the Church is still strong. Hope that God can and will work through us, the youth.
I always hear from people: "I can't be religious and stuff, I'm too much of an outcast." Well, Catholic Fun Fact #1 my friend, God turns outcasts into people who shine hope. And don't tell me you're too young either. God used Timothy and other young people to spread his message of hope! So do not despair my friends, God is hope! Pray that through God, we can ignite a fire of hope within the Church so that more young people can turn to it to find the Light of Christ.
So here's my challenge, try to be a message of hope to somebody in despair this week. Show them that Jesus is the Light and hope they crave and seek. God never said it was going to be easy: He only said it was totally going to be worth it.
I'll leave you with this passage from Romans 15:13:
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in your faith, so that in the power of the Holy Spirit you may be rich in hope."Get Holy or Die Trying. God Bless!
